my brother and i played the og rockband 1-4 for years back in the day on the Xbox 360, but now we live seperately and he has all the instruments, and my main console is a ps5.
All the PS3 Rock Band guitars* and drums work in all the PS3 Rock Band games, and also in RB4 on PS4 and PS5. There is no native interoperability between console families, so Xbox controllers won't work on PS4 or vice versa.
Anyone tried RB4 on PS5 yet? Really anxious to hear whether or not the freezing issue persists.
Just got rock band 4 on my ps5. This game is fun and only ever played at friends. Finally bought my own off ebay. Was excited to see Green Day dookie on the store, but it wouldnt download. Anything you bought on your PS3 (except RBN tracks) should appear available to you on PS4/5. Go to the PS store, filter RB4 DLC to free and it will show free DLC and songs you already owned from PS3. Delisted songs will appear there as well but can only be downloaded by those who bought them previously.

buying drums for ps5 i’ve never played rockband before so i’m not entirely sure what ones work or not, i’ve found a good deal for a Guitar Hero ps3 drum set with the dongle and everything, would that work on the playstation 5 for rockband 4?
