distance for a lever action 44 will in my opinion be better with a barrel longer than 20". That said you would need at least 22-24" for a 200-275 yard shot. And you may have to handload for those longer distances. someone told me that Buffalo Bore makes a serious 44 load but I have not verified it.

Using 147gr Hydro-Shock you'll be launching at a velocity of 1073fps. You should have it zeroed at 50 yards so no drop at all, and then 8.7 inches at 100 yards. Using a 50gr Civil Defense you'll be launching at 2600fps. You should see a bullet drop of 1.5 inches. I keep my 9mm carbine loaded with Civil Defense.

  11. Advangates of an M16 over an m4? Best ar version?

    www.survivalistboards.com/threads/advangates-of-an-m16-over-an-m4-best-ar...

The primary advantage of a full size 'M16' type AR vs an 'M4gery' (an actual M4, in addition to being legally a machinegun, also has a 14.5" barrel, making it an SBR as well) is the extra velocity gained from the longer barrel, which means less bullet drop at longer ranges. You also get a longer sight radius, which generally means better accuracy.
