Helga Elisabeth Foght (11 December 1902 – 23 November 1974) was a Danish textile artist who specialized in calico printing.She opened her own screen-printing workshop in 1937, first creating floral designs but later adopting a more abstract or strip-based approach.
The designs in this period were formal and symmetrical and often tightly arranged with a variety of flowers. Oriental design became influential due to active trading. At the end of the period the designs became more informal due to the fact that the fragrance of the flowers, which were believed to rid the air of diseases, became more important.
