The new grips feel like they push my hand higher up under the bolt to almost being uncomfortable. I will probably return them unless I am able to at least shoot as well as before adding them. I just added them for the looks. Maybe I will send them back and get the Mark IV laminate grips ,
I have a Mark IV and am facing the same issue. I handled all the Mark IVs in stock at my LGS. The one that fit me best was the standard Luger style grip. The 22/45s were thinner but also wider, extending the gap from thumb to trigger finger more than the standard. I'm looking at either shaving down a Hogue wraparound or building my own wood grips.
Was always on my nice-to-have list for my Mark IV 22/45 to acquire Ruger checkered wood grips. But once my Volquarsten kit was installed I was happy. But when the Davidson 22/45 special with the wood grips came out my interest peaked again. Nice guy on RimfireCentral pointed me to eBay. And now my upgrades are complete.
