Santa Clara University is a private Jesuit university in Santa Clara, California, United States. Established in 1851, Santa Clara University is the oldest operating institution of higher learning in California. [5] The university's campus surrounds the historic Mission Santa Clara de Asís which traces its founding to 1777.
The College of Arts and Sciences at Santa Clara University offers degree programs in the arts, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences, with interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary options. As the home of the Core Curriculum, the College serves roughly 5,300 undergraduate students, 2,900 of whom are students within the College.
Santa Clara University School of Law was founded in 1911. The school is part of Santa Clara University (founded 1851), the oldest operating institution of higher learning in California and the oldest Catholic university in the American West. Lucas Hall is among the newer buildings on the Santa Clara University campus and is home to the Leavey School of Business. Construction began in May 2007 and the building was formally dedicated on September 14, 2008, in honor of Donald L. Lucas, veteran Silicon Valley venture capitalist. [20]

The Santa Clara is Santa Clara University's weekly student newspaper. [1] It publishes online every week and distributes 1,000 free in-print copies every third Friday during the academic year. [ 1 ] The newspaper was founded under the same name on February 22, 1922.
