I believe Garmin rolls updates out gradually, using the early recipients to debug the software. As far as I know, you have to wait until you come up in the queue. I learned about the update when I opened Garmin Express. It automatically said there was an update ready for me to install on my GPSMAP 66i.
Reinstall it (it will download to the watch), disconnect the watch and then choose yes when it asks you to install the update. Firmware downgrade Since the first BETA’s we always have the ‘system backdate file’ (gupdate.gcd) which you can load into /GARMIN directory to downgrade the firmware.

This felt normal when it happened among all the other software updates after initial run, but even though I was done with everything, it just keeps asking to update the GPS software. Must have updated 10 times already or so and keeps happening. When I trigger software update check manually by going to the watch Options -> Systems -> Software ...

The update did indicate that my Edge did not have enough internal memory and warned that the map update would be installed on its MicroSD card and ...
