Marissa Oakley was born on April 15, 1999, in Naperville, Illinois, to parents, Dan and Jill Oakley. She has two sisters; Angelique and Joslyn. She got into gymnastics because her older sister, Angelique, was in it and Marissa wanted to do it. [1] She started gymnastics in 2006 at Premier Gymnastics as a level four gymnast. [2]
Pass competed at the 2020 Junior International Gymnix meet, placing eleventh in the all around. She also placed fourth on floor and fifth with the team. [2] She competed at the Junior Australian Championships in 2021, where she won gold in the all around and uneven bars, as well as silver on balance beam and floor.
Broedelet trained at the Premier Gymnastics Academy in Brisbane during her junior career. She dislocated her knee and had surgery in 2019. [2] Despite the injury, she still competed as an individual at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Moscow. [5]
