Jalan Tun H S Lee 敦李孝式路 Currently named after Henry H.S. Lee, Malaysia's first finance minister (1957–1959). Originally named after the fact that the road was a "High Street" stretching across old Kuala Lumpur. Known as Jalan Bandar post-independence before taking its current name.
The Kapitan’s residence in Kuala Lumpur was located on High Street in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, which is today known as Jalan Tun H.S. Lee. It was massive, occupying the greater part of the street, with many deep courtyards, and a large garden in front for entertaining guests. Over 50 people, many of whom were servants, lived in the house.
Hin Leong Trading was a commodity trading corporation [1] registered and headquartered in Singapore that was founded in 1963 by Lim Oon Kuin. One of Singapore's largest independent oil traders, the firm collapsed in 2020 amid allegations of $800 million in undisclosed losses. [2] Hin Leong filed for bankruptcy protection in April 2020. [3]
