Hell Girl is a Japanese anime series produced by Studio Deen in three seasons between 2005 and 2009, with a fourth season airing in 2017. The plot follows a girl named Ai Enma, also known as the Jigoku Shōjo or Hell Girl, and her group of followers as they carry out her duty of striking contracts that involve ferrying hated souls to Hell.

The God of Hell returns in season 3 to punish the newest Hell Girl, Yuzuki, after she breaks the rules and tries to send a grudge of her own to Hell. Ai then returns to save Yuzuki from being sent to Hell by The God of Hell, and she offers to replace Yuzuki as Hell Girl. The God of Hell accepts and restores Ai's position as Hell Girl.

While on a tour through the Hell accompanied by Hozuki, Satan gets scared by Hozuki for the way he treats Enma. Satan also gets astonished to have to eat goldfish plants; he ends up liking the culture shock. However, Satan runs away from the Japanese Hell when, while spying Hozuki's room, sees that Hozuki needs a "Satan" to create a panacea.
