This is a list of mayors of the City of Stonnington local government area in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, which was formed in 1994 by the amalgamation of the City of Malvern and the City of Prahran.
The City of Stonnington is bounded by the Yarra River and Gardiners Creek to the north, Warrigal Road to the east, Dandenong Road and Queens Way to the south and Punt Road to the west. Stonnington has numerous tree-lined streets and 126 parks and gardens as well as 27 off-leash parks . Many public reserves occur along the Gardiners Creek valley.

The City of Prahran was a local government area about 5 kilometres (3 mi) southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia.The city covered an area of 9.55 square kilometres (3.69 sq mi), and existed from 1855 until 1994, when it was merged with the City of Malvern to create the City of Stonnington.
Like his father, Chris Gahan was elected Mayor of Prahran twice, in 1969 and 1981.
