It is located along the western shores of Lake Wallenpaupack and can be accessed by Pennsylvania Route 590 , about eight miles east of Hamlin , and approximately seven miles west of Hawley , both on Route 590.

Approximately 13 miles (21 km) of the lower Wallenpaupack Creek lies buried beneath Lake Wallenpaupack, a reservoir created when the utility PPL Corporation (PP&L) dammed the creek in 1926 as a water supply for a 44-megawatt hydroelectric power plant.
