Midland Independent School District is a public school district in Midland, Texas. Midland ISD contains 41 campuses. It includes the portions of Midland and Odessa in Midland County. Midland High School (officially Midland Senior High School) is a public high school located in Midland, Texas and is part of Midland Independent School District.The original Midland High School was built in 1926 and was moved twenty-three years later to a new building in 1949 where it currently sits today.
The school originally opened its doors in 1961, seven years before the city’s high schools integrated. [4] In October 2020, the Midland school board voted to rename the school "Legacy High School". [5] The Midland ISD board vote to rename had six board members voting for, and one voting against the school's name change.
