TVR 1 (Romanian pronunciation: [ˌtevere ˈunu]; spelled out as Televiziunea Română 1, "Romanian Television 1") is the main channel of the Romanian public broadcaster TVR. The most important show of the channel is Jurnalul TVR , whose motto is Jurnalul așa cum ar trebui să fie!
TVR has seven national TV channels: TVR 1, TVR 2, TVR 3, TVR Cultural, TVR Folclor, TVR Info and TVR Sport. [13] The broadcaster operates TVR Moldova, as well as the international service TVRi Due to financial issues, TVR Cultural and TVR Info closed in the summer of 2012, however the latter was replaced by TVR News three months later.
It began broadcasting on 9 August 1992 and is available in the Moldovan , Russian and Ukrainian languages. [1] It was established by the Government of Transnistria and the Supreme Council to replace Moldovan media that allegedly spread "distorted facts" and "blocked the transmission of reliable information about events in the region".
