Thornaby-on-Tees, commonly referred to as Thornaby, is a town and civil parish in North Yorkshire and falls under Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, England.The parish had a population of 24,741 at the 2011 census, in the Teesside built-up area.
The bridge is located between Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees just north of the A19's interchange with the A66 trunk road and carries the north–south traffic through Teesside avoiding the main towns but is also used extensively by local traffic.

The park hosts many events each year that attract people from across Teesside and further afield.
