Colonial New Mexico The Santa Fe de Nuevo México Province (1598–1821) − of the Spanish colonial Viceroyalty of New Spain . Located in the present day U.S state of New Mexico , and in western Texas , southern Colorado , southwestern Kansas , and the Oklahoma panhandle.
