Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (abbreviated as TNEB) is a power generation and distribution company owned by Government of Tamil Nadu, India. It was created as a regulated monopoly under section 131 of the Electricity Act (2003) as a successor of the erstwhile Tamil Nadu Electricity Board . [ 3 ]
Due to the astronomical increase in energy demand in recent years, the state has a power deficit which is estimated to be approx. 11.9% as of Feb 2009. V Senthil Balaji was born on 21 October 1975 in Rameswarapatti in Karur district.He hails from an agricultural background. He has completed his high school & Higher Secondary school studies from Rameswarapatti Govt. School, Vivekananda School, Pasupathypalayam and Municipal Higher Secondary school, Karur.
The Government of Tamil Nadu constituted, the Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board as a non-statutory body during 1969. Statutory status was given to the Board with effect from 14.4.1971 by an enactment passed by the Tamil Nadu State Legislature.
