This indicates that the USDA labs are taking a 28g slice of raw bacon with 117 Calories, cooking it, draining the fat, and the result, on average, is an 11.5g slice of pan-fried cooked bacon with 54 Calories. I drain away the rendered bacon fat, slow cook it to remove any excess water, strain it into a glass jar, and store in the refrigerator.

a bacon question again... I was in a bacon conundrum yesterday. on my bacon pack it gave 2 values for calories - one for raw and one for cooked with a little " * " by the cooked one. in small print at the bottom it stated the cooked value was cooked in a dry frying pan and the fat drained and patted off the meat.

This indicates that the USDA labs are taking a 28g slice of raw bacon with 117 Calories, cooking it, draining the fat, and the result, on average, is an 11.5g slice of pan-fried cooked bacon with 54 Calories. I noticed this two years ago, and I now drain away and save the rendered bacon fat.

It shows calories per weight. If you eat 10 grams of bacon grease, it will be 10*39/4 calories = roighly 100. If you eat 10 grams of olive oil, it will be 10*120/14 = 85 calories. Well yeah, anytime you compare similar items with completely different weights the one you're having less of will probably be less calories.

I get Wellshire Farms 40% reduced fat. 2 pieces is 60 calories and 3 grams of fat. Looks and tastes exactly the same, if a little less streaky. It is nitrate free and has less sodium. I think typical bacon is more like 45 calories a slice, and 5 grams of fat each. Natihilator Posts: 1,778 Member.

I placed mine on my panini press set to max heat setting for a few seconds to get it slightly "toasted". 90 calories - Flat out flatbread (improved original) 90 calories - 4 slices bacon.

1Tgrease=~126cals (14G*9cal) 126*8= ~1000calories. so the run off grease of my 10 slices of bacon is 1000 calories... Listed at 60 cals a slice (delicious thick Nueske's bacon) the bacon is supposedly only 600cals.. Not to mention there is still some fat on the bacon...

  9. Bacon nutrition info for cooked vs uncooked - MyFitnessPal

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1045588/bacon...

July 2013. I use the costco cooked bacon as my guide. 40 calories and 3 grams of fat each piece. This is what I use also. I use the nutrition facts for pre-cooked bacon. I doubt there will be enough of a difference between different brands and cooking methods to be off by hundred of calories. Close enough for me.

  10. Cooked vs. uncooked - confused — MyFitnessPal.com

If your bacon has 450 grams per package and 4.5 servings at 100 grams each, then it would be the raw weight. Now, if it has 450 grams per package and 2 servings at 100 grams each, then that would have to be the cooked weight because 450 grams / 2 would be 225 grams per serving as packaged. hmg90 Posts: 314 Member.
