Just a notarized bill of sale listing the year, make, model & serial # for the boat, motor, and trailer. Show each separately on one bill of sale. You can also list that it includes all attached accessories. If you have the registration card for the boat, give that to the buyer also. You keep the tag that is currently on the trailer.
Bill of sale will work. Trailers in GA do not have titles. Not necessarily true. Just went through this about a month ago and had to get the original owner to get me a title. If the trailer had a title and the title was used to attain the original tag then they will require the title. More then likely you can work around that.
they are requiring inspections on out of state trailers an so called homemade trailer to get them transferred to registration or title. OOPS, I meant 4500#, not 1500#. But brakes are required for anything over 4500# GVW except things like farm trailers that are pulled at very slow speeds.
Staff member. If it has a Mfr. placque with the model no. and serial no. then just include that on the bill of sale along with a description of the trailer and your name, address. The new owner can get a tag using the bill of sale. You do not have to have a title for a trailer of that length in Ga. to get a tag.
Does anyone have a copy of a boat bill of sale they can send me or tell me where to pick one up. Buying my first boat and the only thing I can find on the computer you have to buy or download.

Once I had all paperwork and bill of sale stuff needed, I sent the wife to the DMV to execute the sale and get it all moved over into our name. She came back saying that the DMV told her we would need the title for the boat trailer and that a bank still had a lien on the boat trailer. I went back to the seller to discuss.
Texas doesnt title trailers. You will pay 54 for the registration fees and 6.25 sales tax for whatever price is on that bill of sale. You need the titles for the boat and motor to put in your name. You will need a tpwd form 143 and 144 i think are the numbers. One is for boat and one is the motor.

I am looking at buying a camper in the state of N.C with a bill of sale. Is this good enough? Also am I able to get insurance with a bill of sale on a old camper ...
Posts: 12,332. Grapevine, Texas. Take the bill of sale to the local tax accessors office. It is like getting you car registration renewed. Will cost about $70 for the plate and sticker and $40 a year after that. Re: Registering a Boat Trailer in Texas [ Re: PaulGrapevine ] #3705076 07/17/09 07:08 PM.
