    I apologize for simply deleting the section, in retrospect this was overly hasty of me. Nevertheless, I would still argue that there is no reason to consider the clown statue story a "variant" of the "Babysitter and the Man Upstairs" story. I believe the two legends are unrelated, and simply happen to have a few elements in common.
