Dalton State College (DSC or Dalton State) is a public college in Dalton, Georgia, United States. It is part of the University System of Georgia. Founded in 1963 as a junior college, the college became a four-year institution in 1998. Dalton State is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
In November 2007, Schwann was selected as Dalton State College's fourth president of, beginning in March 2008. [3] While Schwenn was president of Dalton State, undergraduate programs were increased from six to 17, increased graduation rates, expanded the college with a satellite campus in Gilmer County, Georgia and established the first residence hall on Dalton State's campus in 2010.
