gPotato.eu launched when Gala Networks Europe Ltd. (Dublin, Ireland) was founded by Gala-Net as a wholly owned Group company and online games publisher for the European market after launching gPotato.eu. This portal was merged into Webzen.com and closed in May 2014.
To promote and publish games, GALA Group uses its gPotato game portal. People can play or download games from the gPotato portal for free. gPotato services downloadable client-based games. The gPotato portal launched in November 2005 in the US and 2007 in Europe, and was sold to Webzen in 2013.
Gpotato had many other region branches each released at different times as the games popularity increased. Upon the loss of a reported 40% of revenue in 2012 compared to 2011, the North American and European branches of Gpotato were sold for $17.5 million to Webzen.Inc. [ 4 ] The new publisher acquired 100% of Gpotato in February 2013.
Luna Online (Korean: 루나온라인) is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing video game developed by South Korean studio EYA Interactive. After a three-year development phase, starting in 2004, the game was initially launched in South Korea in 2007, but first became successful with its launch in Taiwan in October 2008.
In North America, the game was previously released as Space Cowboy Online through a portal known as gPotato, which was operated by Gala-Net. Space Cowboy Online ' s client was made available for download on May 22, 2006, and the service went live on May 26, 2006. [2] On December 26, 2007, Space Cowboy Online was shut down.
