The Rollover Pass area is a popular location for fishing, bird watching, and family recreation activities. Parking and camping was available on all four quadrants along the Pass, and handicapped or elderly persons were able to fish while sitting in their vehicles.

Fairfield Lake State Park is a closed state park located in Freestone County, Texas, United States, northeast of Fairfield on the shores of Fairfield Lake, the subject of a contentious battle between the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) (which leased and operated the park until June 2023) and a private developer (who purchased the land from the prior owner).
Lake Cypress Springs is a 3,461-acre (1,401 ha) reservoir in northeast Texas, approximately 90 miles (140 km) east of Dallas, Texas. The lake is used for recreational, municipal, and industrial purposes. The lake is regularly monitored by a lake patrol, which enforces wake zones, fishing licenses, boat dock rules, and boating.
Impoundment of water commenced in January 1967. The lake has an 85 mi (137 km) shoreline and occupies an area of 11,630 acres (4,710 ha). Its main purposes are flood control, municipal water supply and recreation. TPWD leased land along the lake in 1968 from the federal government opened the park in 1970.
Crystal Beach is located along 27 miles of beach on the Bolivar Peninsula. It is a popular destination due to allowing camping and fires, as well as its fishing opportunities. Some fish in the surf, and others on the rocks of the North Jetty. The Rollover Fish Pass has been filled in and can no longer be fished, as of 2020.
