The Portland Fish Pier is a fishing pier located in Portland, Maine, on the edge of the Fore River. It is a major hub for the commercial fishing industry, and is home to the Portland Fish Exchange, where over 20 million pounds (9.1 kt) of seafood a year are bought and sold. The Kennebec River (Abenaki: Kinəpékʷihtəkʷ) is a 170-mile-long (270 km) [1] river within the U.S. state of Maine. It rises in Moosehead Lake in west-central Maine. The East and West Outlets join at Indian Pond and the river flows southward. Harris Station Dam, the largest hydroelectric dam in the state, was constructed near that confluence.
