    The book said: "the winter of 1880"; but it is obviously Fall until the very last scene.68.231.189.108 19:32, 13 March 2010 (UTC) Much of the book took place in the Winding Stair Mountains of Oklahoma. I agree the scenes in the movie bear little resemblance to that part of the country.
