I have read your threads for classic skype and have followed the suggestions to download it, but I cannot find the classic version of skype to download. All that is available is the newest version which is HORRIBLE. I am visually impaired and when I get used to a program and all its commands It is very difficult for me to relearn a new version.
Unfortunately, the download page to which the link sends us has absolutely no instructions for getting 7.41. It simply tells me that if I have Windows 10 I already have the latest version. This message from Skype/Microsoft was utterly useless. Click on Get Skype and select Get Classic Skype.
The link to download Classic Skype has disappeared from https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/ and the archived version only offers me the MacOS binary.

I would like to get a solution for the problem with opening/download a received file in Skype. I get the message that We hit a snag loading your file. I found similar posts but no solutions. File is not older the 30days, windows version Windows 10 Enterprise (64 bit) and the Skype version is 8.32 (corporate version)
Open the ClassicSkype (or whatever you named it) folder: Paste all the downloaded files to this folder. Locate there the Skype executable file Skype.exe (might be shown as just Skype). Rght click on this file and select Send to -> Desktop (create shortcut). Start Skype using this new shortcut.
I am using Skype (version 8.15.0.4) for Windows, and I am not able to download any files that were sent. I read that there is problem with big or old files. But it s not this case.. I also deleted AppData Skype folder. Versions older than 8.xx were working fine..
