The Royal Borough of Greenwich (/ ˈ ɡ r ɛ n ɪ tʃ / ⓘ, / ˈ ɡ r ɪ n ɪ dʒ /, / ˈ ɡ r ɪ n ɪ tʃ / or / ˈ ɡ r ɛ n ɪ dʒ /) [1] [2] is a London borough in southeast Greater London, England. The London Borough of Greenwich was formed in 1965 by the London Government Act 1963.

It is in The Pepys Building near to the Cutty Sark within the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College (formerly Greenwich Hospital); the building began life as an engineering laboratory for the college. The centre opened in March 2010, and admission is free. The Centre explains the history of Greenwich as a royal residence and a maritime centre.
