Collier–Seminole State Park is a Florida State Park located on US 41, 17 miles (27 km) south of Naples, Florida. The park is the home of a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark , the Bay City Walking Dredge used to build the Tamiami Trail through the Everglades .

Decades later, in 1964, Collier County acquired the land through the help of Lester J. and Dellora A. Norris. This is where the name Delnor comes from; the first three letters of Dellora and the first three letters of Norris. In 1970, the state of Florida purchased the land from Collier County for a state park, which opened in 1976. [1]
On February 22, 1972, the Board of Collier County Commissioners voted to create Collier County Parks and Recreation.
