The range reaches an elevation of 8,738 feet (2,663 m) at Grapevine Peak, near Phinney Canyon on the Nevada side. Daylight Pass is at the southern end of the range. Most of the Grapevine Mountain chain is in Death Valley National Park. The range was named for the wild grapes in the area. [2]

Frazier Park is a village and unincorporated community in Kern County, California. It is 5 miles (8 km) west of Lebec , [ 3 ] at an elevation of 4,639 feet (1,414 m). [ 2 ] It is one of the Mountain Communities of the Tejon Pass .
