Turkey's television market is defined by a handful of large channels, led by Kanal D, ATV and Show, with 14%, 10% and 9.6% market share, respectively. [ 4 ] The two most used reception platforms are terrestrial and satellite, with almost 50% of homes using satellite (and 15% of those pay for services) by the end of 2009.
On the same day, MTV Turkiye's website closed with a text saying that their new site will be available as soon as possible. As of October 2010, the channel operates on cable TV (e.g. on D-Smart Ch. 63, see Digital television in Turkey) and free-to-air satellite. The channel ceased broadcasting on August 31, 2011.

ATV (stylized as atv) is a Turkish free-to-air television network owned by Turkuvaz Media Group. [1] As of August 2013, ATV was Turkey's most popular channel with a market share of 22%. [2] ATV was founded by Sabah Group, who is the original owner of the channel. The channel changed its ownership to Ciner Media Group in 2002 and TMSF in 2007.
