The South African Table Tennis Board (SATTB) is the national governing body responsible for table tennis in South Africa. The organisation has been affiliated to both the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) since 1950, and the African Table Tennis Federation. SATTB is based in Pretoria.

The 2023 World Table Tennis Championships was the 57th edition of World Table Tennis Championships and held in Durban, South Africa. [ 2 ] It was the first such event set to be held in Africa since 1939 Championship held in Egypt.
Since there were more than 64 athletes, seeded players 1 to 32 were drawn directly to the top position in round of 64. Seeded players 33 to 48 were drawn in the remaining position of round of 64. [1] [2] The draw was held on 24 July 2024. [3] [4]
Teams were made up of three players. Each team match was made up of five individual matches and ended when either side has won three matches. The order of a team match was as follows: a doubles match, two singles matches, and if neither side had won three matches by this point, a maximum of two extra singles matches were played.
