The C date and time functions are a group of functions in the standard library of the C programming language implementing date and time manipulation operations. [1] They provide support for time acquisition, conversion between date formats, and formatted output to strings.
The std::string class is the standard representation for a text string since C++98. The class provides some typical string operations like comparison, concatenation, find and replace, and a function for obtaining substrings. C++ changes some C standard library functions to add additional overloaded functions with const type qualifiers, e.g. strchr returns char* in C, while C++ acts as if there were two overloaded functions const char *strchr(const char *) and a char *strchr(char *). In C23 generic selection will be used to make C's behaviour more similar to C++'s. [11]
