Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) is a school district in Maricopa County, Arizona, that serves most of the town of Queen Creek and a portion of the city of Mesa. [2] [3] It was formed in 1947 from land once part of the Higley Unified School District (at the time, neither district was unified; Queen Creek High School would not open until 1967).
The Queen Creek school district did not open a high school until 1986, when it became a unified school district; [3] previously, the school district bused high school students to other schools far from town. [4] In 1988, the school graduated its first class of 22 seniors, attending classes in a 12-room school building. [4]
The town of Queen Creek is served by six public school districts, as well as public charter schools and a private school. The portion in Maricopa County is mostly in the Queen Creek Unified School District, with portions in the Higley Unified School District and the Chandler Unified School District. [13]
