Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) – the basic function of the system is to monitor the fuel level tanks permanently to see if the tank is leaking. A probe installed in the tank is linked electronically to a nearby control device where received data (product level and temperature) are recorded and automatically analyzed.
When the tank is empty and the least current is flowing, the needle points to "E" indicating an empty tank; some vehicles use the indicators "1" (for full) and "0" (for empty) or "R" (for reserve) instead. [4] The digital fuel gauge in a 2018 Mazda 3 showing a nearly-empty tank along with a distance to empty display.
The control portion of the system can be located safely away, with the pneumatic plumbing isolating the hazardous from the safe area. Air bubbler systems are a good choice for open tanks at atmospheric pressure and can be built so that high-pressure air is routed through a bypass valve to dislodge solids that may clog the bubble tube.
The tank is supported around its circumference by the equatorial ring, which is supported by a large circular skirt, known as a data-couple that is a unique combination of aluminum and steel, which takes the weight of the tank down to the ship's structure. This skirt allows the tank to expand and contract during cool-down and warm-up operations.
The system, by identifying the source of fire, on occasion also allowed tanks to kill the Hamas anti-tank team. [ 42 ] Giora Katz, head of Rafael's land division, stated it was a "breakthrough because it is the first time in military history where an active defense system has proven itself in intense fighting."
Load cells are an integral part of most weighing systems in industrial, aerospace and automotive industries, enduring rigorous daily use. Over time, load cells will drift, age and misalign; therefore, they will need to be calibrated regularly to ensure accurate results are maintained. [ 15 ]
Classification systems vary between different countries, and loading gauges may vary across a network, even if the track gauge is uniform. The term loading gauge can also be applied to the maximum size of road vehicles in relation to tunnels , overpasses and bridges , and doors into automobile repair shops , bus garages , filling stations ...
The Code also sets out requirements for emergency shutdown (ESD) systems for when liquefied gas cargoes are carried in bulk. [4] Section 4.1 of the IGC Code defines several types of tanks that can carry liquefied gases. These include independent tanks (of which there are three types, A, B and C), membrane tanks, integral tanks and semi-membrane ...
