East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA) is an American professional wrestling promotion, founded in 1967 by promoter Jim Kettner. [1] It is home to the annual Super 8 Tournament , one of the longest-running independent wrestling tournaments in the country, [ 1 ] as well as the annual ECWA Women's Super 8 Tournament .

The ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won by Ace Darling. [1] The 2011 tournament was broadcast live as an internet pay-per-view for the first time. [1] [2] The 2011 tournament was also the first time the tournament had been held outside of Delaware. [3] Christopher Daniels and Darius Carter are the only two time winners.

The Super 8 Tournament was first held on October 11, 2014, and was won by Tessa Blanchard. [1] [2] Deonna Purrazzo became the first wrestler in 20 years at ECWA to win the tournament back-to-back between the year 2015 and 2016, including the ECWA Super 8 Tournament. [3] [4] In 2021, the tournament was renamed to the Women's Super 8 Tournament. [5]
