Fork and pull model refers to a software development model mostly used on GitHub, where multiple developers working on an open, shared project make their own contributions by sharing a main repository and pushing changes after granted pull request by integrator users.

According to this simple sequential model, the market was the source of new ideas for directing R&D, which had a reactive role in the process. The stages of the "market pull " model are: Market need—Development—Manufacturing—Sales. The linear models of innovation supported numerous criticisms concerning the linearity of the models.

Fork-and-blade rods, also known as "split big-end rods", have been used on V-twin motorcycle engines and V12 aircraft engines. [23] For each pair of cylinders, a "fork" rod is split in two at the big end and the "blade" rod from the opposing cylinder is thinned to fit into this gap in the fork.
Implementations of the fork–join model will typically fork tasks, fibers or lightweight threads, not operating-system-level "heavyweight" threads or processes, and use a thread pool to execute these tasks: the fork primitive allows the programmer to specify potential parallelism, which the implementation then maps onto actual parallel execution. Most straight-pull rifles have a striker firing mechanism (without a hammer), [citation needed] and models using a hammer usually have a comparably longer lock time than hammer-less mechanisms. The Anschütz Fortner action used in biathlon is a good example of an ergonomical straight-pull rifle with good economy of motion and high operating ...
