The Wisconsin Rugby Club (WRC) is a USA Rugby Men's Rugby Union club with sides competing in Division 2 and Division 3. WRC is based in Madison, Wisconsin , United States. Wisconsin is the 2013 & 1998 USA Rugby Division 2 National Champions, 2015 & 2012 USA Rugby Division 2 National Runners-up, and 2008 3rd Place finisher.
The Wisconsin Women's Rugby Football Club was founded in 1975 in Madison, Wisconsin. The team was affiliated with the University of Wisconsin in its early years until distinctions were drawn between senior club and collegiate teams in the early 1990s. The late 1990s and early 2000s saw the WWRFC appear on the national rugby scene.
The club has had a summer league in each subsequent year, expanding to as many as five teams and moving games to the Wisconsin Rugby Sports Complex. The Midwest Rugby Football Union (MRFU) is a Territorial Union (TU) for rugby union teams playing in the Midwestern United States. It is one of seven TUs that governed a specific region of USA Rugby. It was founded in 1964. [1] In 2013, USA Rugby reorganized from Territorial Unions (TU's) to Geographical Unions (GU's).
