Corner Brook (2021 population: 19,333 [1] CA 29,762) is a city located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Corner Brook is the fifth largest settlement in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the largest outside the Avalon Peninsula .
Curling is a mainly residential neighbourhood of the city of Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. It is situated just west of the main part of the city. Located in the Humber Arm of the Bay of Islands, Curling was originally a fishing community. It is the oldest section of Corner Brook.
The Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador was erected on 9 May 1870 as the Prefecture Apostolic of Western Newfoundland. It was re-erected as an apostolic vicariate on 28 April 1892 and as the Diocese of Saint George's on 18 February 1904.
