The South College Street Historic District in Covington, Tennessee is a historic district which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. [1] It included 17 contributing buildings (12 houses and five outbuildings) on 2 acres (0.81 ha). [2] It is a residential district, with houses built mostly between 1880 and 1932.
Farm first settled in 1830 by Joseph Williamson and family in the small community of Liberty just east of Granville. Historic home built in 1850 by Andrew Jackson Vantrease. Samuel Sampson Carver purchased property in 1890, operating a saw mill, blacksmith shop, and general store in addition to his agricultural uses.

Carmel church continued to operate until 2000, when it merged its membership and assets with First Presbyterian Church of Covington. [5] The church building was completed in 1854.
