Scarab boats were popularly featured in the 1980s TV series Miami Vice. As of the second season of the series, the main character Sonny Crockett piloted a Wellcraft 38 Scarab KV. [ 3 ] In Riptide , the counterpart to the eponymous boat where the detectives work is the Ebb Tide, a 38' Scarab powered by KAAMA Power Systems. [ 4 ]

Hunter Marine was an American boat builder, now known as Marlow-Hunter, LLC, owned by David E. Marlow.The company did produce the Mainship powerboat brand. Marlow also owns and manufactures the Marlow Yachts brand consisting of long range power cruisers in the 37 to 110 foot range.
Among his naval designs was a 34-foot patrol boat for the US Navy as well as several destroyer hull designs. [4] [5] The company started its own boat building subsidiary in 1998. Called Hunt Yachts, it built high-end powerboats in the 25 to 29 ft (7.6 to 8.8 m) size range. It was building about 30 to 40 boats per year in 2013.
