The trail is a part of the North Carolina State Trails System, which is a section of NCDPR and, by January 2019, 669 miles (1,077 km) of trail had been designated as a part of the MST by NCDPR. The park has a total of seven trails. There is a 2.5-mile (4.0 km) loop trail around Price Lake rated easy. The Boone Fork Loop Trail is five miles (8 km) and considered challenging. The Tanawha Trail is 13.5 miles (21.7 km). It passes under the Linn Cove Viaduct and wraps around Grandfather Mountain. [13]
