National Library Building. The National Archives of Bangladesh (NAB, Bengali: বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় আরকাইভস, romanized: Bānlādēśa jātīẏa ārakā'ibhasa) are based in Dhaka and contain 225,000 volumes of documents in addition to books, microfilm rolls and newspaper clippings. [1]
Most of the collection is in Bengali but there are books and periodicals in other languages as well, including English and Hindi. Subjects range from literature to broader disciplines of social science and humanities. In all, there are more than 4,000 books in the library. It has a reading room where up to 15 people can study together at a time.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro offers classes on world literature for Higher Secondary students, and also provides every book for those classes. For Secondary and Junior school level it operates a nationwide reading program, and provides books for the students. In 2007, it had 500 schools under this program, and over 100000 active student members.
