Claflin University is a private historically black university in Orangeburg, South Carolina, United States. Founded in 1869 after the American Civil War by northern missionaries for the education of freedmen and their children, it offers bachelor's and master's degrees.

Dwaun J. Warmack (born c. 1977) is an Amеrican univеrsity administrator and currеnt prеsidеnt of Claflin University, a historically black institution in Orangеburg, South Carolina. Hе became the 9th President of Claflin University in 2019.
Henry Nehemiah Tisdale was born on January 13, 1944, in Kingstree, South Carolina. [1] [4]He graduated from Claflin University in mathematics (B.S. 1965) with magna cum laude; [5] [6] followed by studies at Temple University (Ed.M. 1967).
He received the Presidential Citation in 1995 from Henry N. Tisdale, president of Claflin University. In 2006, he was also the recipient of Claflin University's highest award, the Bythewood Award. The South Carolina African-American Heritage Commission gave him the 2006 "Preserving Our Place in History" Award. [8]
Of the college’s 15,000 alumni, 50% reside outside of Las Vegas. Notable alumni include Guy Fieri , William Hornbuckle , Booze Davis , Randall Cunningham , and George Maloof . Since 1974, the college has been involved in a world-known annual wine and food event known as UNLVino, which serves to generate scholarships for students of the college.
