St. Raphael's Syro-Malabar Catholic Cathedral Church, also called St. Raphael Cathedral, [1] is an Eastern Catholic church located in Palakkad district, Kerala, India. [2] It is the cathedral church of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palghat (Eparchia Palghatensis), which was created in 1974 through the papal bull titled "Apostolico requirente" of Pope Paul VI.

A Mar Thoma priest, Rev. C.V. George from Ranny in his youth as an advocate was an active member in the freedom struggle and was jailed for his involvement in activities against British Raj. He is the only Mar Thoma Priest who is recognized and awarded as a freedom fighter by the Government.
The artworks of the interior were extensively done in 1939 under the last Spanish friar who served as parish priest, Fr. Santiago Blanco, OSA. Native painter Macario Ligón was later commissioned to paint the ceiling of the church. Later in the 1970s, Ligón's assistant and nephew Victor Ramos restored 80 percent of the ceiling and mural paintings.
