Pateros High School (grades 9–12) is the only secondary school in the small town of Pateros, Washington. Pateros High School is part of the Pateros School District , one of only three K-12 schools in the United States to have been selected as a National Blue Ribbon Award Winning School .

Chattaroy Post Office. Founded in the 1880s, Chattaroy is located two miles east of the defunct Spokane Falls & Northern Railway's Dragoon station. Residents were buried in the Chattaroy cemetery as early as 1888. [3] A post office called Chattaroy has been in operation since 1888. [4] The origin of the name Chattaroy is obscure. [5]
Steiner vigorously promoted the town, making Pateros the principal rail shipping point between Oroville and Wenatchee. Pateros was officially incorporated on May 1, 1913. In 1962, the Federal Power Commission granted the Douglas County Public Utility District a 50-year license to build and operate Wells Dam about 8 miles downstream of Pateros. [7]
