The arachno-bot’s name originates from the distinct shape of the robot, as its 8 legs resemble a spider’s. Each leg consists of a spider-inspired electro-hydraulic soft-actuated joint (S.E.S) which is the core of an arachno-bot. The S.E.S enables the arachno-bot to perform functions other robots can’t do, such as crawl, climb, and jump.
The robot is controlled by a computer running the Linux operating system and HexEngine software, which controls the hydraulic solenoid in the legs. It is driver-operated by joysticks within a cockpit, can travel at approximately 1 mile per hour (1.6 km/h) and can cover 5 kilometres (3.1 miles) on a 4.5 imperial gallons (20 L) tank of diesel ...
It is a 4-legged robot that somewhat resembles a spider and a dog. Also designed by Mark Tilden, the Roboquad, like other WowWee robots, has multiple personalities, awareness of its surroundings, some autonomous behaviour and can be controlled via a remote.

Legged robots, or walking machines, are designed for locomotion on rough terrain and require control of leg actuators to maintain balance, sensors to determine foot placement and planning algorithms to determine the direction and speed of movement. [3] [4] The periodic contact of the legs of the robot with the ground is called the gait of the ...
The new leg design enabled the robot to perform a range of movements like walking, hopping over a gap, and jumping onto an obstacle. Raven’s jumping legs also allowed it to start flight at a ...
Underwater walking robot, using Klann leg linkages in laser-cut and anodised aluminium. [1] The Klann linkage is a planar mechanism designed to simulate the gait of legged animal and function as a wheel replacement, a leg mechanism. The linkage consists of the frame, a crank, two grounded rockers, and two couplers all connected by pivot joints.
