Joseph Aaron Coelho OBE FRSL is a British poet and children's book author who was Children's Laureate from 2022 to 2024. In 2023, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature . [ 1 ] In 2024, he was announced the winner of the Carnegie Medal for his YA novel The Boy Lost in the Maze.
Blake was the inaugural British Children's Laureate (1999–2001) [3] and was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Academy of Arts in 2001. [31] He received the biennial Hans Christian Andersen Award from the International Board on Books for Young People for his career contribution to children's literature in 2002.
Cottrell-Boyce has won two major British awards for children's books, the 2004 Carnegie Medal for Millions, which originated as a film script, and the 2012 Guardian Prize for The Unforgotten Coat, which was commissioned by a charity.
