Ruth Ann Coverdale was born on January 17, 1935, in Milford, Delaware, the daughter of Mary Ann (Lewis), a homemaker, and Samuel Coverdale, a sharecropper. [1] [2] While growing up, she left high school at age 16 to help support her family. Subsequently, she married Frank Ingram with whom she had three children: Frank Jr., Wayne, and Gary.
Simpson Kalisher was born to a Jewish family on July 27, 1926, in the Bronx, New York City, the youngest son of Sheva and Ben Kalisher and brother of Fay and Murray. [1] [2] After one year of college, Kalisher was drafted into the military aged 18 in October 1944 for WW2 and was admitted to military hospital briefly in August 1945.
