Clive Eric Cussler (July 15, 1931 – February 24, 2020) was an American adventure novelist and underwater explorer. [1] His thriller novels, many featuring the character Dirk Pitt , have been listed on The New York Times fiction best-seller list more than 20 times.
Kirkus Reviews liked this novel, saying, "Cussler’s plots sometime slip outside of the box of believability, but he’s always entertaining." [4] The Daily Courier, of Prescott, Arizona, gave another favorable review of this book, saying, "Fans of this series expect nothing less, and “The Romanov Ransom” doesn’t disappoint."

The Oregon Files is a series of novels written by author Clive Cussler and several co-authors. Craig Dirgo was a co-writer for the first two titles, Jack Du Brul was a co-writer for the next seven titles, Boyd Morrison took over as co-writer starting with book 10, and Mike Maden writes the 16th, 17th, and 18th book after Clive's passing.
Kirkus seemed to like this book, although its review alluded to some of the unlikely scenarios in its pages, saying, "Cussler and company deliver another fun page-turner with a plot ranging from the highly improbable to the totally implausible."
