State Route 147 (SR 147) is a 16.9-mile (27.2 km) state highway maintained by the U.S. state of Alabama in the east-central part of Alabama. The highway acts as a connector between Interstate 85 (I-85) and U.S. Route 29 (US 29) in the southern part of Auburn and US 431 between Auburn and LaFayette.

Toomer's Corner is named after businessman and former State Senator Sheldon Toomer, a former halfback for the first Auburn squad in 1892. [5] Toomer founded Toomer's Drugs in 1896, which was started with a $500 loan from John Reese, and Toomer later founded the Bank of Auburn on the corner of Magnolia Avenue and College Street in 1907. State Route 267 (SR 267) was a state highway in Alabama and a loop route of SR 147, bypassing downtown Auburn to the west. For its entire 5.1-mile (8.2 km) length, SR 267 was known as the Shug Jordan Parkway (named for Auburn University football coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan).
