Herbert Dickens Ryman Jr. (June 28, 1910 – February 10, 1989) was an American artist and Disney Imagineer.Ryman worked in watercolor, oils, and pen & ink sketches. In 1953 Ryman drew the first illustrations of Walt Disney's vision of a theme park that eventually became Disneyland.

From early in his career he compiled an album of his travels entitled Sketches from Nature 1869–1908. Full of dated pencil and watercolour sketches, it provides a record of many of the places to which he ventured, including Cumbria in the summer of 1890, North Wales in the summer of 1891, and as far north as the Trossachs in Perthshire.

He found more than 40 motifs alone in his hometown of Ulm. On his numerous travels he made pencil drawings as preliminary studies for the later etchings.
